Leeds College of Music is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage the undergraduate Music Business/Professional Studies curriculum of our BA (Hons) Music programme.

Reporting to the Programme Leader for Music Business, you will have a track record of curriculum management, and/or professional practice. You will have experience in multiple roles in the music industry and familiarity with contemporary music business practices, understanding the broad range of activities and roles within the creative industries. You will have responsibility for the operational management of modules within the pathway and curriculum area, including timetabling and student and staff recruitment.

This role will include leading on the Working in the Creative Industries module. Undertaken by all our 1st year students as part of our cross-pathway Professional Studies strand, key activities include booking and supervision of a range of guest lecturers, supervising a team of lecturers and overseeing assessment of a large cohort of students. The role also involves taking responsibility for designing and delivering curriculum that focuses on developing students’ reflective and academic skills.

Teaching will include both online delivery as well as on campus lectures and seminars. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate fluency with appropriate software platforms to enable our blended learning activities.

In addition to your teaching duties, you will assist the Programme Leader with regards to quality enhancement and curriculum development. You will be expected to line manage academic staff and allocate duties and responsibilities to staff within the curriculum area.

Educated to at least degree level, with University or conservatoire experience, the successful candidate will become a key part of the School of Pop and Production. Creative and driven you will be the person to assist the Programme Leader to continue the success of our cross-pathway curriculum offering. 

This role is initially fixed term from September 2020 – August 2021, with the potential for an extension based on successful performance.
